Description

Fluttershy in a forest and OH MY GLOB THIS TOOK FOREVER TO RENDER 2 DAYS TO RENDER.

Sorry no 1080p this time. Computer couldn't handle that much detail so I had to kick it everything down a few notches resulting in some lost background colour. =( Hopefully i can fix it somehow!

-gmod ponies belong to :iconkp-shadowsquirrel:

-environments created in Vue xStream 10

-EDIT: changed brightness/constrast to add a little more colour

Fave-ing this for the setting. A couple things are kind of bugging me, though. First, Fluttershy looks out of place because she's so smooth and the rest of the scene is so organic and textured, but I don't know how much control you had over that because you got the model from somewhere else. The other thing is that the warm spotlight on her is a bit jarring. The overall scene looks to me like a foggy, misty forest at dawn, but the spotlight makes it seem like the sun is shining directly on her, like through a break in the clouds at midday. My problem is not that your setting isn't what I want it to be (if that makes any sense). I understand that the intent is to draw attention to Fluttershy, but the fact that the warm colors are only in that one place disconnects it from the rest of the image. I think that having multiple lights, though not quite as bright or warm as the one on Fluttershy, shining through the leaves in the background would pull the image together while keeping the focus on her.

I apologize if I'm coming across harshly, because I really like this piece. The forest is gorgeous. It reminds me of some Japanese gardens I've seen, and it projects the same kind of mystic calm that I love about them. Fluttershy's pose and the layout of the terrain serve to draw the viewer deeper into the scene as well.

In short, excellent work on the models, layout, and mood, and in the future try to focus on the unity of the image. Great work!
